Ch Deluxe Splash
"Splash"
June 14, 1999 - May 20, 2011
It is with deepest sadness that Ron and I write to tell you of the passing of
our dear American foxhound, Splash. It is so hard to believe that just yesterday he was running
around here in Kearney and by the time we got him to Dr. Becker this afternoon he was so weak that
he could barely stand and was gasping for breath. An x-ray showed multiple tumors in his lungs and
his condition was deteriorating rapidly. While it is so painful to say goodbye, we are comforted that
Splash had a happy life and suffered for a very short time.
Splash has been a special part of our lives and provided us with so many wonderful memories. Who
would have imagined that a dog that never "set paw" into an AKC show ring until the ripe old age of 7
years plus would not only finish his championship but go on to be first Award of Merit and Select Dog
at the 2010 American Foxhound Club national specialty? We are so grateful to Polly Smith for this
great memory!
What we will remember most is Splash glued to his favorite spot on the couch in the TV room
fighting for position with the other senior citizen, Lindsay Ann Lux, or hanging out in the
backyard with his Beagle buddy, Lightning B. Lux. Splash was mostly lounging in the grass and
probably wondering just what Lightning was barking about? He was pals with all the Beagles except
Spooner, but that's another story...
Splash will be greatly missed by all of us at Deluxe, human and canine. It is consolation to
know that he is with Quincy B. Foxhound and Victoria Lee and all his foxhound friends as well as
the Dalmatians, Archie, Gucci, Ike and Courtney Marie. One of my greatest regrets is that Splash
never had a chance to meet the newest Deluxe foxhound, Spencer, who will be arriving next week from
Lisa and Harry. I'm sure that the "old guy" could have taught the newcomer a thing or two.
We are very, very grateful that Splash was part of our lives. He will never be forgotten and his
memory will bring us happiness always. |

Ch Kiarry & Deluxe Adam's Rib
"Amanda"
Amanda finished her championship in grand style going Winners Bitch at the 2010 American Foxhound
Club national specialty with her fourth major. This win was made even more special by the fact that
the judge was respected American foxhound breeder Mrs. Polly D. Smith plus the 2010 nationals were
held in conjunction with the legendary Morris and Essex Kennel Club show, which is held only once
every five years. Special thanks to Amanda's breeders, Lisa and Harry Miller and Connie Petrick for
this lovely girl!

Ch Deluxe Splash
"Splash"
June 14, 1999 - May 20, 2011
Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? At the age of eight, and in just three months,
Splash finished his championship -- impressing judges with his correct type, outstanding movement
and friendly, happy temperament. Ch Deluxe Splash had a great time at the 2010 AFC National Specialty going first Award of
Merit and Select Dog - from the Veteran's Class! Splash, piloted in the breed ring by Ron,
showed that at 11 plus years of age, he can still play with the young kids - and win!

CH Cedar Creek Golden Girl Deluxe
"Victoria Lee"
March 19, 1998 to August 29, 2010
It is with the deepest sadness that we tell you of the passing of our wonderful American
foxhound, Victoria Lee. Not only was Victoria a multiple group winner and placer in the show
ring, she was a cherished part of our family and our lives. We have recalled so many wonderful
memories in the past few days as we knew that the end was near. Fortunately, Victoria was ill
for a very short time and it is consolation to know that she lived and enjoyed 12 good years.
She is loved and will be greatly missed by everyone at Deluxe especially her best pal, Splash,
who stayed close by and watched over her during her last days.
We are so very grateful for having had the privilege of such a wonderful American foxhound
in our lives.
